Atal Bihari Vajpayee admitted to AIIMS

Former Prime Minister and veteran BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) on late Tuesday night.

Vajpayee had complained of pain in the chest. He was hospitalized and is under constant medical supervision. The doctors said that he had congestion in the chest but it was not serious.

Senior BJP leaders including the BJP president Rajnath Singh and senior party leader Sushma Swaraj visited the hospital to inquire about his health, said party sources on Tuesday night.

Vajpayee was running fever for the last couple of days. The decision to shift him to hospital was taken later in the night. Senior doctors attending to him said that the condition of the BJP leader was stable.
