Humiliated by RSS goons Mangalore girl ends life

A teenaged schoolgirl, who had been humiliated by suspected Sangh Parivar activists for allegedly befriending a Muslim youth, has committed suicide.

The incident has come in wake of a Hindu girl dragged and mistrated for talking to a Muslim youth during a bus journey in the same town in Karnataka early this month.

The girl, Ashwini, 15, a student of IX, had gone along with a girl, to meet a youth, Salim, when a group of youths dragged the trio to the police station. The girl's parents were called and the girl had been humiliated for her 'act'.

Apparently, unable to bear the mistreatment, the girl hanged herself to death in her house. She committed suicide by hanging self by the ceiling, police said. The suicide has occurred just when groups like Pramod Muthalik's Sri Ram Sene have taken upon themselves the task of moral policing.

Claiming themselves to be the guardians of the Indian culture, the Sene workers had beat up girls at a pub. They had also threatened to disrupt St Valentine's Day celebrations and forcibly marry young couples found in public places on February 14.
