Nithari killers Pandher, Koli to be hanged to death

The special court on Friday pronounced death sentence to businessman Moninder Singh Pandher and his servant Surinder Koli for the Nithari serial killings.

The children were lured, sexually abused and later killed. The sentence comes in the case of teenaged Rimpa Haldar, 14, who was raped and later murdered. Though CBI had not pressed charges against Pandher, the court held him guilty along with Koli.

Terming it the rarest of rare cases, the Judge ordered death sentence for the two persons. Pronouncing the judgement, Justice Rama Jain said that the two persons deserved capital punishment.

The two persons were accused of at least 19 killings. The CBI had pressed charges of paedophilia and necrophilia against Koli, who allegedly cooked the bodies of the dead children and consumed the human flesh.

Rimpa's father Anil Haldar said that the court had done justice to his family. He said that being a poor man it was tough for him to fight the case and thanked his counsel Khalid Khan. Meanwhile, Pandher's son said that his father was innocent and asserted that the family would appeal against the verdict in the higher court.
