Policeman probing Rizwanur case found murdered

The police official who was investigating the death of Rizwanur Rehman, the Kolkata-boy who had married the daughter of industrialist Ashok Todi, has also been murdered.

Arindam Manna, the police official, was not just the Investigating Officer, but also a witness in the case. He was found dead on the railway tracks at Hooghly with an injury mark, suggesting that he was murdered.

The death of Manna comes just within days of the Todi family members getting bail in the case of Rizwanur' death. Rizwanur Rahman, a young computer graphics designer, was also found dead in mysterious circumstances on the tracks.

He had married businessman Ashok Todi's daughter Priyanka against her family's wishes. Braving the threats to his life, he had brought Priyanka home but was later found dead.

It is believed that he was murdered. Now the death of the key witness and investigator puts a question mark on the future of the investigations in this high-profile case.
