Raj Thackeray booked for sedition

A criminal case was registered against MNS chief Raj Thackeray on the orders of a Bihar court for the attacks on the North Indian students in Maharashtra last year.

Thackeray was booked for sedition and criminal conspiracy. The case has been registered on the complaint of one, Ram Lakhan Mishra, who had earlier approached the police.

However, no case was registered then. He later filed a private complaint in the court. The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Darbhanga district court) came down heavily on the police for not registering the case.

Acting on the directions of the court, the police have registered the case of sedition (acting against the state) and criminal conspiracy apart from abetment of the offence.

As per the complaint, Raj Thackeray and his Mahrashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was responsible for the deaths of youths of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in Maharashtra. Raj's provocative speeches were held responsible for inciting the mobs.
