Advani's contribution is Babri demolition, says PM
March 24, 2009
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh hit out at BJP leader LK Advani on Tuesday, saying that the latter's 'contribution' to the country was the demolition of Babri Mosque.
Singh said that the terrorist attacks on Indian Parliament and Red Fort, surrender to militants' demands during the Kandahar plane hijack case and Gujarat genocide, all took place when Advani was Home Minister of the country.
Upset over the allegations that he was a weak Prime Minister, Singh chose to counter-attack and recounted the above incidents, saying that the electorate should decide who is weak.
Singh was speaking to journalists after releasing the Congress manifesto for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. He termed Advani as an 'opportunist' for his visit to Jinnah's mausoleum in Pakistan nearly four years ago.
