Terror accused Sadhvi Pragya in hospital

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was admitted to a government hospital after she went on fast claiming that she had been served non-vegetarian food in the prison.

She is an accused in the Malegaon blast case and is currently lodged in the Byculla jail. Thakur had refused to eat the food served in the jail and as a result her health was affected.

The MCOCA court had directed that in case her health deteriorates, she could be admitted to the hospital. The self-styled Sadhvi, who became the poster girl of militant Hindutva, has said that a piece of egg was found in her food.

She held that it was against her religious beliefs and she was vomiting constantly after the incident. Her lawyer had also demanded that she should be allowed to get home cooked food from her family in the jail.

For the moment, the Sadhvi has been shifted to the JJ Hospital. Pragya Thakur is charged of planning and conspiring the bomb blast at the Muslim dominated Malegaon town in Maharashtra in 2006.
