Varun Gandhi in trouble over communal remarks

The BJP candidate from Pilibhit constituency in Uttar Pradesh (UP), Varun Gandhi is in the eye of a storm due to his anti-Muslim comments in speeches during poll campaign.

Gandhi made inflammatory comments at a public meeting. The Election Commission has taken cognisance of the speeches that were shown live on various television channels on Monday.

He had allegedly said that he would severe the hands and heads of members of a particular community. Varun reportedly used an abusive slang for the Muslims in one of his speeches.

The fierce tone of the 'other' scion of Nehru-Gandhi family has even shocked the BJP leaders. The Congress candidate VM Singh and other local leaders are also approaching the authorities for suitable action.

Varun is the son of Maneka Gandhi She has left the seat for him in order to launch his political career. Though he is known to be politically active, his strong anti-minority rhetoric has surprised even the firebrand BJP leaders.

The Election Commission has served a notice on him. Already a case has been registered against him for delivering provocative and fiery speeches that can disrupt peace and law-and-order.
