Shiv Sena workers stoned the house of advocate Anjali Waghmare, who was asked by the court to represent Ajmal Kasab, an acused of 26/11 Mumbai terror strikes.
Waghmare, 40, had agreed to fight the case. However, after Monday evening's incident, she had apologised for accepting to defend Ajmal Amir Kasab and wrote a letter to the Shiv Sena in this regard.
The judge had appointed Waghmare as Kasab's counsel when he told court that he had no lawyer to take up his case. The lady lawyer had told journalists that she would be able to provide a good defence.
Later she had also said that denial of a lawyer to Kasab would have a negative impact on the case. But the Shiv Sena workers attacked her house in Mumbai later in the day. Subsequently, she apologised and said that she would not fight the case.
