Hindu terrorism takes root in Jammu & Kashmir

Over a dozen Hindus have been found active in terrorist outfits in the troubled Jammu and Kashmir state that has been afflicted with militancy for a long time.

The secret agencies have found that nearly 17 Hindu terrorists have been identified in the state in the last decade or so. Four such terrorists were even gunned down in J&K. Three of them were linked to Hizbul Mujahideen while one of them was associated with Harkatul Ansar.

Most of these terrorists are in the age group of 17-25 years. Some of them carry rewards of over Rs 1 lakh. Other such militants have been linked with Al Badr, Lashkar-e-Toiba and other groups. These terrorists are mostly active in Doda and Rajauri districts of Jammu.

The Rajauri police officials say that they are clueless that what draws the Hindu youths towards Muslim-led militant groups but feel that it could be a sense of power apart from money that brings them to terror and fight along side the jihadis in the valley.
