The incident that is indeed shocking and criminal also highlights a woman's frustration as she was apparently hapless as the accused was a powerful leader of the party that is sharing power in the JDU-led alliance in the state.
Kesri, 51, was meeting visitors when the woman Roopam Pathak reached his residence. Draped in a shawl, she was carrying a knife which she suddenly took out when she faced the MLA and stabbed her repeatedly until he fell down.
She was immediately caught. Kesri, a four-time legislator, died due to critical wounds received in the fatal stabbing spree. The woman who is a school teacher said that the 'rapist' MLA was scot-free while she was bearing the stigma as there was no action on him.
The 45-year-old woman had lodged a complaint of sexual harassment but rued that it was she who bore the brunt of social disrepute though she was a victim. The woman was beaten up and handed over to the police. She has been charged with murder.
