This has been revealed by Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Satish Verma who was associated with the CBI investigation of the fake encounter in Gujarat.
Verma has said that the intelligence bureau had no input on Ishrat Jahan and there was clue at all about her accompanying other suspects.
"These people were kept in illegal custody and the killed", Verma said, as quoted in Indian Express.
The IPS officer says that IB had no information about Ishrat and her links and it was a case of premeditated murder, says the report. Verma was part of the team constituted to conduct probe into the killing.
On the others of the Gujarat High Court, the team had conducted probe into the encounter that had taken place in 2004. Recently, former Home secretary GK Pillai's comments while talking to Times Now led to fresh speculation about Ishrat's antecedents.
Verma has rubbished Pillai's comments and has said that a poor and innocent girl is being defamed just because an environment has to be created for a favourable outcome for those involved in this case of encounter killing.
